COLONIE, N.Y. -- Colonie police have arrested four individuals from a local massage parlor that has been targeted two previous times by the department and the sheriff's office.
The investigation into Jasmine Beauty and Massage on Central Avenue began after police received an anonymous email reporting that prostitution was taking place inside the business.
Undercover investigators posing as customers went to the massage parlor on Thursday and requested massages. Police said the initial transactions were made with the owner, Keun Ling Cheng, and once inside investigators said all three employees performed unlicensed massages and two agreed to perform sexual acts in exchange for more money.
Police said when officers entered to make the arrests, several women attempted to flee out the back door. The owner was located in her residence, upstairs from the massage parlor.
Investigators said there was video surveillance of the exterior and interior of the business that was being monitored in the owner's residence and the occupants were alerted to the arrival of police.
