TROY, N.Y. -- We're learning the name of the merger between three local health care facilities.
The health system was created by the merger of Northeast Health, St. Peter's Health Care Services and Seton Health. The new system will be named "St. Peter's Health Partners."
Officials from each of the hospitals were on hand for the announcement. The president and CEO for Northeast Health says it is all about reforming health care.
"Really bringing together. I'm not aware of anywhere in New York State that is going to do it the way we are going to do. That is bringing all the health care elements under one umbrella. Obviously, that is a heavy undertake but when it comes to criticism of health care that is where it has always been. We are too fragmented, we don't provide coordinated care," said Dr. James Reed.
The merger to create "St. Peter's Health Partners" will be finalized later on in the summer.
