ALBANY, N.Y. -- Over 1200 people from throughout New York State get a chance to see nanotechnology in an up close and personal way through Community Day at the "College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering" in Albany.

Visitors received guided tours of the Nanotech Complex, in addition to attending presentations, visiting information booths and interactive demonstrations, and taking part in hands-on activities.

Many highlighted technological breakthroughs in fields such as health care, energy, environment, electronics, and economics.

CNSE's Vice President for Marketing and Communications, Steve Janack said the event is something everyone can enjoy.

“I like to say the crowd today is made up of people from ages 4 to 84. It’s children that are seeing nanotechnology for the first time. It’s parents that are understanding more about the opportunity that nanotechnology is bringing to this region and state. Its grandparents that see an opportunity to keep their family here to grow up, to build their lives and careers,” said Janak.

Community Day is part of the fourth annual NANOvember, which is designed to showcase the growing impact of nanotechnology on society and the global leadership of the UAlbany NanoCollege and New York State in this emerging field. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
