Over the river and through the the woods, to Grandmother's house we go... It's time for a holiday getaway to all three!
It's easy to get 'over the river' in the Village of Newfield, NY, just south of Ithaca, thanks to the Newfield Bridge, a historic covered bridge! Built in 1853, she's a beauty!
'Through the woods' can be a very entertaining experience when you're on the Chickadee Trail in Mendon Ponds Park, Monroe County. With a little birdseed on the palm of your hand, the chickadees come right to you, land on your hand and fly away! Free!
Up next... To Grandmother's house we go! The Granger Homestead in Canandaigua is exactly what Grandmother's house would look like. Today, the yellow mansion is filled with decorated Christmas trees for the annual Festival of Trees! Not open on Thanksgiving Day.
