In this edition of Science Break, our Burton Fitzsimmons demonstrates to the students how a microwave can light up a light bulb.

There is enough electrical activity inside the microwave to light up a light bulb. After a few seconds the bulb lights up and after, they use a bulb with a higher wattage and it lights up even brighter. If left in any longer the glass on the light bulb will heat up and it could explode. Do not try this experiment at home.
