The Bahamas are getting a taste of the Big Apple as some favorite New York restaurants head down south and set up shop. Time Warner Cable News Reporter Valarie D'Elia filed the following report.

Atlantis, Paradise Island might be an ocean away from New York City, but it has a similar appetite. Several of its restaurants are island outposts of the Big Apple’s best, led by celebrity chefs whose names just might be on the tips of our taste buds.

A Caribbean version of Nobu is just off the casino floor offering a winning combo of sushi and sake. Another notable restaurant within arm's length of the slots is the first location outside the U.S. for Chef Todd English’s Olives restaurant, which New York foodies might recognize from the W Hotel Union Square.

Chef Bobby Flay’s first foray in the tropics has taken up residence at the resort within a resort known as The Cove, featuring the southwestern cuisine of Mesa Grill.

For something a little more casual, head for the Coral Towers where you can dig into chicken and ribs dished out by Virgil’s real BBQ, the family style favorite popularized by its location just off of Times Square.

Classic French dishes are served up at Café Martinique in Marina Village, under the guidance of Chef Jean-George Vongerichten, of three star Michelin fame, renowned for his namesake Columbus Circle restaurant.

Another New York institution is Carmine’s, a family-style Italian transplant, also part of Marina Village, a re-creation of a classic Bahamian marketplace.

Atlantis dining plans range from $80 to $130 a day for adults and $30 to $50 for kids ages 7 to 11. Kids six and under eat free with the purchase of an adult dining plan. Note that Nobu does not participate in any of the dining plans while lunch, gratuities, alcoholic and other specialty beverages aren't included.
