GREENWICH, N.Y. --
It’s been five months since Jaliek Rainwalker disappeared and rescue workers looking for him have hit a dead end.

“It’s pretty frustrating, we have no new leads at all, no clue to his whereabouts,” said Greenwich Police Chief, George Bell.

“It has been a particularly frustrating search. Like the chief said, it’s so frustrating for all of us,” said Ranger John Solan.

They're hoping a fresh pair of eyes might lead to new evidence. 60 New York State forest ranger volunteers are conducting a grid search in the area Jaliek was last seen.

“A small piece of clothing, anything that belonged to him, anything that might tell us where he is,” said Find Jaliek Taskforce founder Elaine Person.

The snow has melted and the ground is clear in many of the areas rescue workers were looking after his initial disappearance, which is giving them new hope.

But after months of searching, they still have very little that points to where Rainwalker may be. So at what point do the Greenwich police call off the search?

“At some point, unless new evidence comes up, I don't have an easy answer for that,” said Bell.

Even with no new evidence or any fresh leads the boy’s former foster families say they'll never give up hope on their little boy.

“Even if it takes months, even if it takes years, we'll never stop,” said Person.

The search is getting new help on Monday, as well, as the team that helped search for the body of Natalie Holloway is coming into town to join the search efforts.
