ALBANY, N.Y. -- The same drone plane being used in the case of missing Jaliek Rainwalker, 12, is being used to search for missing college student Josh Stostak this weekend.

The plane, operated by non-profit Texas based Equusearch, flew over a 2 mile area of the Hudson in Coeymans this morning - taking detailed pictures of the area.

The photos are then blown up and investigators can see very fine detail on the terrain, even down to a tennis shoe.

We should know in a matter of hours whether anything that could be related to the case
was found.

Stostak went missing in December after leaving the Bayou Cafe in downtown Albany. The plane's operator says while great weather helped the search, the plane isn't waterproof, so focusing on the Hudson has been a bit challenging.

“We try to take that risk factor into account, but again today the conditions are optimal, we have a nice bright sun overhead, the water is going to be very calm for most of it so we'll be able to see into the water to a pretty good depth,” said Gene Robinson, RP Flight Systems.

Meanwhile the Szostak family celebrated Josh's birthday, which was last weekend, with an event at the Crossings in Colonie.

Several family members of missing people from across the region gathered at the event, to show each-other support. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
