GREENWICH, N.Y. -- Greenwich Police have confirmed they removed clothing believed to have been Jaliek's from the former home of Steven Kerr and Jocelyn McDonald. They also say this is the only piece of evidence they took during Tuesday's raid and it's now being analyzed at a state police crime lab.

Greenwich Police Chief George Bell said, "I can say it's an item of interest in our investigation."

Throughout the investigation, Jaliek's friends and relatives maintain he was last seen wearing a yellow fleece, but Bell wouldn't say whether or not that is the article of clothing they removed from the house. Kerr's attorney says he has some idea of what was taken.

Steven Kerr's Attorney Jeffrey McMorris, "Apparently what they were looking for is a sweatshirt or jacket that was there or may have been there."

McMorris also says he has concerns about the timing of the raid. Police searched the abandoned home just minutes after Jaliek's grandmother Barbara Reeley was arraigned on burglary charges after police say she entered the home through an unlocked door on July 10th.

"Now I wonder if she was not going there to put things there. You can't rule that out. Perhaps it was a burglary in reverse," said McMorris.

That's something police say they don't believe was the case and are waiting for the clothing to be analyzed.

Meanwhile, while the active searches for Jaliek have waned, signs are still up all over the area and Bell says he continues to follow up on all new information.

Bell said, "We have a 12-year-old child that has vanished off the face of the earth. We have looked at gang activity, looked for a potential runaway and we have come up with nothing. Absolutely nothing."

Steven Kerr is still the only person of interest in the case.
