TROY, N.Y. -- A community forum in Troy to create "Jaliek's Law" was held Thursday night.
Twelve-year-old Jaliek Rainwalker disappeared on November 1st, 2007. The forum was designed to come with ideas and a plan to create strict post-adoption oversight for hard to place children, like the adopted Rainwalker.
"We're working on putting together Jaliek’s Law, which would, hopefully, get the support of the legislature and get it passes where it would improve on post adoption services, have stricter post adoption services," said Rev. Tim Sherman.
Stephen Kerr, Jaliek’s adoptive father, was the last person seen with Jaliek on November 1st, the day he disappeared. He has been named a person of interest in the case, but was never charged.
