AMSTERDAM, N.Y. -- Two Amsterdam teenagers were taken into custody in connection with the two bodies found in the Town of Florida.

Anthony Brasmiester, 16, was arraigned in Town of Florida Court Friday afternoon. He and a 15-year-old friend have been charged with second degree murder for the deaths of Paul Damphier, 16, and Jonathan DeJesus, 13. Their bodies were discovered in a wooded area on Snooks Corner Road in the Town of Florida. Both, police say, died from gunshot wounds.

At the arraignment, Brasmiester's attorney spoke on behalf of Brasmiester's family.

"Overall, I think they're in a state of shock, quite frankly. Two days ago, their son was running around enjoying the summer. Now he's the subject of all this media attention and more so just the allegations themselves. So I think they're really in a state of shock. I don't think it's actually hit them yet," said Jeffrey Francisco.

Brasmiester's attorney scheduled a hearing for next Friday with the district attorney.

There will be a candle light vigil held Friday at 8:30 p.m. for the victims, with a planned moment of silence.
