Police make drug arrest

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Police say a Poughkeepsie man driving with a suspended license was busted for drugs. Michael Velez, 25, was driving southbound on South Road by Oakwood Commons Tuesday night.

During the traffic stop, police say Velez had 138 small packets of heroin, 16 Oxycodone pills and more than $2,000 in cash. He faces a number of charges including criminal possession of a controlled substance, and aggravated unlicensed operation. Velez is being held at Dutchess County Jail.
