WASHINGTON, D.C. -- When the inaugural parade is all said and done, our nation's top leaders will be sitting down for a luncheon that features some of the finest ingredients from right here in New York.
Saratoga Springs Sparkling Water will be served in those iconic blue bottles to Washington's political elite at today's luncheon.
The company first learned of the honor back in August.
Also being featured today, Fulton County's own Fage Greek Yogurt. The company learned it would be honored earlier this month and will be providing vanilla and plain yogurt to inaugural guests.
Some other goodies representing New York State, Golden Harvest Apples from Columbia County and Crown Maple Syrup from Dutchess County.
To top it all off, Chef Shannon Shaffer, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, will serve as the head chef for the luncheon for the second time.
Senator Chuck Schumer, who is the chairman of the inauguration ceremonies, said this kind of recognition will be good publicity for these local companies. Schumer also believes the publicity will help boost the local economy.
