CAPITAL REGION -- Two area movie theaters are set to close their doors for good. The Regal Cinemas at Wilton Mall in Saratoga County and Latham Circle Mall are shutting down.

The decision to close was announced earlier this month. The space occupied at Wilton Mall will soon be used by Bow Tie Cinemas, which plans to renovate and open for business in July.

Company officials said the new theater will have eight wall-to-wall screens, custom built rocking seats and surround sound. The company also plans to open a theater in downtown Saratoga Springs.

There's no word yet from Boston-based developer, Grossman Group, what they have in store for the space at Latham Circle Mall. A decline in business is what led to the closure of that theater.
