CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. -- There's a new way to see history in Saratoga County. The historic Lock 19 footbridge gives people the first access between the lock's dual chambers in many years.
It was built by students from Shenendehowa, and local companies that volunteered for the project. 80 high school students worked with engineers to design and construct the footbridge.
"So this was very much a work in progress and it grew and grew into something that in the end, turned out to be very significant for not only our future as a chamber but for the future of many communities here in Southern Saratoga County," said Pete Bardunias, President/CEO of The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County.
Construction on the bridge was completed late last year.
