ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Albany County Sheriff's department arrested seven people accused of forging checks on the Town of Green Island Justice Court's account, totaling more than $11,000.

Sheriffs say the forged checks were duplicated from a check drawn on the court's bail account.

Investigators say the checks were being made in New York City and brought to the Capital Region to be cashed at local banks. The people allegedly cashing the forged checks used their real identities and were arrested by the Sheriff's department.

All seven are charged with felony criminal possession of a forged instrument, grand larceny and conspiracy.

Sheriffs are also looking for Barbara Whitehead and Aisha Stasack in connection with the forgeries. Anyone with any information on their whereabouts is asked to contact the Albany County Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Unit at (518) 765-2352.
