HERKIMER, N.Y. -- Governor Cuomo says he's looking into new options to get state aid to flood victims. Today, he will be at Herkimer County Community College to discuss funding. He will be joined by Fort Plain Mayor Guy Barton.

The village of Fort Plain was heavily damaged by flooding last month. The governor estimates that it will cost $10 million to assist the roughly 400 property owners impacted by this summer's floods across the state.

FEMA informed Governor Cuomo this week that homeowners will not be eligible for the individual federal assistance program, which would have provided federal funds to help people rebuild and recover.

The governor said he's exploring his legal options on how to deliver the aid.

On Thursday in Albany, Cuomo will host the "Build Back Better - New York Rising Storm Recovery Conference." He said the focus will be on helping communities organize to rebuild from disasters. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
