For the second time this summer, an historic fountain in Saratoga Springs has been vandalized. Now, it will take a few weeks before it is back in use. YNN's Geoff Redick has more on the senseless act.
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Police in Saratoga Springs are investigating surveillance video to identify the people responsible for the latest round of vandalism in Congress Park.
According to police, two women and two men entered the park from Spring Street on Thursday afternoon. They said the two men climbed on the Morrissey Fountain and caused it to fall.
Thursday's incident is the second time the fountain has been vandalized since June.
Police said the four people in the surveillance video appear to be in their late teens, or early twenties. As police work to identify the suspects, anyone with information about their identities is asked to contact police.
The fountain will be reinstalled within the next two weeks. It will also be strengthened so it can't be toppled again.
