SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- A former head basketball coach at Siena College is charged with disorderly conduct.

According to police, Bob Beyer, 51, was involved in an argument at Gaffney's Bar in Saratoga Springs. They said one of Beyer's friends punched a bouncer in the nose.

When police tried to arrest the friend, officers said Beyer attempted to intervene with police. He is charged with obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

Beyer was the assistant men's basketball coach at Siena College from 1989 to 1993, and become head coach from 1994 to 1997. Currently, he is an assistant coach with the Charlotte Bobcats.
