SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- New students kick off the new year at Schenectady County Community College on Friday.

About 400 students attended the orientation and learned about everything the college has to offer. This year, the college has new programs including Casino Gaming Management and a new Liberal Arts Honors Concentration.

According to students, the freshmen have a lot to look forward to this year.

"There's a lot of things to do here. There's a lot of different clubs and activities so the more that you can do, the more that you can get involved with the school, the more you'll get out of it," explained Malcolm Toffolo, a student.

Schenectady County Community College enrolls more than 7,000 students and offers more than 40 different programs.
