SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Nearly $500,000 is on the way to Schenectady as part of the Affordable Care Act.
A total of $150 million is currently being distributed across the country to support 236 new health center sites in an effort to expand access to health care.
The new sites are expected to provide care for more than one million additional patients.
A total of $2.7 million will come to New York to support five facilities. Schenectady Family Health Services Inc. is slated to receive more than $441,000.
Health centers in Buffalo, the Bronx and Middletown are also receiving funding.
