SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- In honor of Veteran's Day, the 2nd Annual Veteran's Day 5K is held in Saratoga Springs.

The run raises money for Operation Adopt a Soldier.

About 500 runners were part of the event and Organizers say 100 percent of the money raised goes toward helping soldiers.

"We have a lot of vet within our department and we know what they go through. Once a year we want to honor them and this was just a little tribute to them just for them fighting for our freedoms, going overseas leaving their families behind, it's the least that we can do," said Nicholas Colucci, Race Director and Saratoga Firefighter.

OAS provides support for men and women who have or are currently fighting for our freedom.

Awards were given out to the first place veteran, firefighter, man and woman. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
