Appeal denied for man found guilty of forged police identification card

ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y. -- The state Court of Appeals has denied an appeal by the man found guilty of possessing a forged police retirement identification card.

Christopher Hughes used the forged card to try to buy a police retirement badge from a police supply business. When the supply company contacted the Bethlehem Police Department to verify Hughes' employment status, an investigation revealed he was not listed as a retired officer and the signature on the card was forged.

Hughes was found guilty of criminal possession of a forged instrument last May and sentenced to five years in prison. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
