AVERILL PARK, N.Y. -- A 49-year-old lawyer from Averill Park is facing charges after police said she took thousands of dollars from clients, friends, and business people throughout the area.

Marcia Doyle faces fraud and grand larceny charges. According to prosecutors, Doyle took $10,000 from one victim, and $24,000 from another victim.

New York State Police said she promised very high return rates, but never delivered.

"Various people coming and complaining that she'd attained funds from them using various ways of getting it, either real estate transaction or in some cases investment opportunity, and then the people never got paid any money back," said Bob Stampfli, a New York State Police Investigator.

Troopers believe there are more victims. If you think you are a victim, contact 279-4427.
