ALBANY, N.Y. -- UAlbany football has a new head coach.

The Washington Post is reporting Maryland Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Line Coach Greg Gattuso, has been hired to replace former Head Coach Bob Ford.

Gattuso has spent the last three seasons at the University of Maryland.

Ford, 76, retired this year after 44 seasons at UAlbany.

As the only head coach since the program was reinstated in 1970, Ford built the program from the ground up.

The University finished its $19 million multi-sport complex this past September, and named the field turf after the legend himself.

Seth Leavitt will have more, coming up in sports.
