Ten years since Stellamare capsized in Port of Albany

  • Text size: + -

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Monday marks ten years since the Stellamare ship capsized at the Port of Albany.

Three Russian sailors were killed during the incident. They were loading GE generators when the load slipped and caused the ship to tip over. The sailors were pinned underneath the water, and drowned.

Their bodies were found during salvage operations afterwards. A granite memorial now marks the place where the accident occurred. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
