UNITED STATES -- Christmas is only two weeks away and that means time is running out to get any letters or packages in the mail you want delivered in time for the holiday.
Post Office officials say they expect the next two weeks to be extra busy.
Monday was the last day the post office could guarantee that international standard shipping will get your gifts to their destinations in time for Christmas. Tuesday is the last day to guarantee standard shipping within the U.S.
The post master says to make sure your items are getting where they need to go, make sure your stuff is clearly labeled.
"Be sure your return address is on the piece. Make sure things are packaged properly. This time of year, there is a lot of volume in our system and the packages get mixed with others. Legible, clear address," said Joseph Finan, Postmaster of Albany.
Of course, you still have a little more time to get those items where they need to go if you're prepared to spend a little more for priority and express packages and letters.
