The United States Postal Service is preparing for some of its busiest days as the holidays approach. YNN's Brad Vivacqua has some tips to make sure your packages get where they need to go.

NATIONWIDE -- Across the county, the postal service is expecting 17 million customer visits from December 3 through December 25.

If you're mailing packages, you have several options to choose from. There are flat rate boxes and supplies available to customers in many of the USPS customer service centers. All of the agency's shipping information is also available on www.usps.com.

According to post office officials, parcel delivery remains steady, despite fewer cards and letters in the mail.

"The parcels and the Priority Mail, the parcel service has really jumped up and that's our niche. We deliver to 153 million households every day. So, we really have an opportunity to get your Christmas cheer out to your friends," said Jeff Costello, United States Postal Service Senior Sales Representative.

Costello says online shopping continues to keep parcel business very busy around he holidays. People can also take advantage of the 24-hour Automated Postal Center machine at some post office locations.

Be sure to have your cards and letters, or first class mail sent by December 20. The deadline for priority mail is December 21, and the deadline for priority express service is December 23.
