SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- New York's Bridges and infrastructure were the topic of conversation at a state Conference north of Albany. The biggest project is the New Tappan Zee span.
The 27th Annual Construction Industry Conference was held in Saratoga Springs. It was sponsored by the Associated General Contractors of New York State.
Wednesday's keynote speaker was the State DOT Commissioner, Joan McDonald.
McDonald said it was remarkable how quickly the Tappan Zee Project has launched into development.
"We are excited,” McDonald said. “Under Governor Cuomo's leadership, it's full steam. Before he became governor it wasn't moving quickly at all. And the fact that it's gone into construction in two short years is amazing. And what that has done is raise the profile of transportation projects across the state."
The conference also touched on projects like thruways and canals, and the New York State Capitol Building renovations.
