COLONIE, N.Y. -- Police in Colonie are asking for help to identify a man suspected of stealing packages left in front of homes.

According to police, they are looking for a man captured through the surveillance system of a homeowner on Boght Road. Six similar thefts have occurred since November on Windrose Way, Corina Court, Dutch Meadows Drive, Wakefield Lane, and Peachtree Lane.

They said the man drives a silver Hyundai Elantra sedan. If you recognize the suspect or the vehicle, or if you have not reported a stolen package, contact the Colonie Police Department at (518) 783-2744.

To prevent package theft, police recommend having a package shipped to your place of employment, or make sure a neighbor is available to pick it up. Also, be sure to leave instructions to deliver packages out of sight, or request signature confirmation.
