ALBANY, N.Y. -- Students at Christian Brothers Academy and their families are doing what they can to help needy families during this holiday season.
Each year, the school collects donations through the National Honor Society's Adopt a Family project. Just before Thanksgiving, the school begins collecting a variety of donations, including hats, boots, clothes and toys. The donations are then given to local families.
School officials say a lot of people wanted to help out this year.
"Our response has been overwhelming from the CBA community. It's been a terrific event. We had a lot of kids here wrapping despite the snow storm outside to finish everything up," said CBA teacher Jenifer Kish.
Kish says they adopted 32 children for the holiday season and hope to increase that number in the years to come.
