ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. -- A woman and three young children were injured in a car crash in the Town of Wallkill. It happened around 8 p.m. Thursday on Tower Drive.

An SUV crashed into a pole.

Two girls, ages three and four, suffered severe head trauma and were flown to Westchester Medical Center. The mother and her five-year-old were taken to Orange Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

The fire chief says one of the girls was losing consciousness when crews arrived.

"There was two children sitting on a curb, one standing holding her head, a mom sitting on curb, she was holding one her lap," said Silver Lake Fire Department Chief Richard Manley.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
