COHOES, N.Y. -- Seven cats are now in care of the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society after being seized in an animal hoarding case.

According to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, the cats were removed from 3 John Street in Cohoes on Monday. The search took place after receiving complaints from neighbors and animal control officers.

Monday was the second time the humane society has taken cats from the home. In April 2010, nearly 50 cats were seized.

Police say no arrests were made, but animal cruelty charges are pending. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
