MARIETTA, N.Y. -- Take a look at this. You're looking a man ice skating on Otisco Lake in Marietta, but it's not for fun. If you look closely, you'll see the man is pulling a deer.

The man was one of a handful of good Samaritans who acted quickly to help save two whitetail deer stuck out on the lake. They made a quick call to the DEC and neighbors chipped in with a boat and rope.

We caught the rescue on tape.

Together, they were able to get the deer safely back to shore.

"We just happened to be driving down the road and we saw a couple things out in the water. Probably one was 500 feet out and the other was probably a thousand feet out. And we backed up and we weren't sure if it was a person or what. And come to find out, it was a couple deer," said Marietta resident Rick Frost.

We are told both deer were released and neither was injured. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
