GREENE COUNTY, N.Y. -- New York State Police are searching for the driver responsible for a hit and run on Interstate 87 in Greene County.

According to troopers, it happened Thursday night around 7 p.m. when a tow truck operator was helping a disabled car near exit 21. The operator was walking on the shoulder when he was hit by a car.

The car drove away, and the tow truck operator was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The car is described as a black Toyota Tundra, likely from the 90s. It was dented, with a rusted back end, and a possible broken tail light.

Anyone with information is asked to contact New York State Police at 1-800-842-2233.
