WATERVLIET, N.Y. -- Watervliet Mayor Mike Manning touted the city's success during his State of the City address on Friday morning.
Manning said the city had a strong and productive fiscal year, and recently had an increase in its bond rating from an A to AA-minus.
He said green initiatives and energy efficiency upgrades have saved the city more than $140,000. Manning said he hopes to continue building on that success.
"The way this operation works is a little different than the private sector where things can snowball, so it's good to finish 2013 and we're able to put together a plan for '14 that keeps us on budget and within the tax cap," said Manning.
This marked Manning's seventh State of the City address.
