RENSSELAER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Staff from Rensselaer Tech Park lace up their sneakers and hit the pavement Wednesday.

The American Heart Association has designated today as National Walking day.

It's an effort to get people moving whether it's walking, running, or any kind of exercise.

After the walk, staff took part in CPR training, had their blood pressure checked, and received information on healthy living.

Kathy Beam, WMHT Director of Corporate Support said, "They say 30 minutes of exercise a day will really help you in the long run, helping to decrease your blood pressure, making you healthy overall. It is just a fun way for everyone to get together as a group."

The American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes of physical activity a week for adults. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
