FISHKILL, N.Y. -- One fair in the Hudson Valley opened for business Friday night as they had to deal with some unfavorable conditions throughout the week.
As they hurried in, many from all age groups took to the rides Friday night as the Hudson Valley Fair opened for business.
What they saw was everything from monkeys riding on dogs, to the well known funnel cakes. The event draws more than 20,000 people during its three week stop at Dutchess Stadium, which this year falls during the Easter and Passover Holidays.
“You’re really busy on Easter or not quite as much,” said fair manager Ron Weber, “We’ll just have to find out on Sunday.”
But many of the fair's Friday night visitors didn’t care about finding those colorful Easter eggs, but rather seeing a different side of Mother Nature.
“It was 80 when I got here on Sunday,” said Weber, “then it snowed the other day and now it’s supposed to be warm this weekend.”
So if you’re heading out to the fair before or after the holidays, just remember the fair season is open for business.
