EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. -- The VFW Post in East Greenbush gets a much-needed makeover, all thanks to one man and a group of local volunteers.
On a recent visit to the post, Scott Higgins of East Greenbush saw that the building was in need of a facelift.
One Facebook post later, Scott had gathered enough volunteers and support from the local businesses to give the building new flooring, paint, and other improvements.
A ribbon cutting was held at the post Saturday.
"It was in pretty rough shape, and we did a nice job on it, had a lot of help, tons of volunteers," said Scott Higgins, an East Greenbush resident.
"Here's a businessman, organized other big businessmen and contractors, and really just made this place a beautiful place. So today's our way as veteran's to say thank you to Scott Higgins and the community of East Greenbush for what they have done here for us today," said Timothy Claspy, Commander,VFW Post 7338.
All of the work on the building was done throughout the month of March.
