CAPITAL REGION -- Thursday marked the 63rd National Day of Prayer in the Capital Region.
A concert of prayer was held at the Episcopal Cathedral on Swan Street. This year's theme was One Voice United in Prayer.
According to leaders, it's a day to acknowledge God and pray for local and national leaders.
"He answers prayers today. Prayer is powerful and want to offer our prayers to the lord, seek repents, and ask for his intervention in matters that matter most to him," said Philip Catchpole, a member of the National Day of Prayer Task Force.
National Day of Prayer was established as an annual event in 1952.
