New York's Republican party nominates its candidate for Governor.
"I proudly, emphatically, ecastatically, unconditionally, enthusiastically accept your nomination for governor of the state of New York," said Astorino during his speech.
In his speech, he criticized Governor Andrew Cuomo for not doing enough to boost the state's economy. Astorino also vowed to reduce taxes and bring jobs back to New York.
"Forty-one percent of New Yorkers now say they would leave this state if they could. Four out of ten neighbors want to follow the three million former New Yorkers who’ve moved away in the past 20 years. How did this happen? When did living here become like a prison sentence?," said Astorino.
He also pledged to impose term limits on state elected officials, as well as the governor’s office. Check out Capital Tonight's State of Politics blog for the latest.
