State Police Remind Drivers to Be Extra Careful When School Year Begins

  • Text size: + -

State police are reminding drivers to take extra caution when on the road as the new school year begins.

Police are urging drivers to support AAA annual School's Open: Drive Carefully campaign to help preserve the safety of children traveling to and from school.

The campaign alerts drivers to the risks to school-age children from motor vehicle crashes. AAA said car accidents are the leading cause of death for children from 5 to 14 years old.

The campaign begins Tuesday and runs through October 15. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
