RED HOOK, N.Y. -- A sheriff's deputy and a Red Hook firefighter were responsible for rescuing a disabled man from a burning building.
Crews responded to a fire on South Broadway last Wednesday. Joe Colburn, the owner of the building, was upstairs and unable to get out because of a disability.
Deputy Russell Seymour and Assistant Chief Michael Lane entered the burning building and saved the man. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
