COLD SPRING, N.Y. -- Calling hours were held in Cold Spring for one of the four victims of Sunday's deadly train derailment.
Family and friends gather at Clinton Funeral Home to say goodbye to 58-year old James Lovell.
Lovell was an independent contractor who frequently worked as an audio technician on the Today show.
He was headed into the city to prep for the Christmas tree lighting ceremony Sunday morning when he was killed.
Lovell grew up in Cold Spring and stayed there to raise his family. He leaves behind his wife and four kids.
Those who knew Lovell said he was a wonderful man and great father who will be greatly missed.
"Jim was a real good guy,” Lovell’s friend Bob Flaherty said. “Nice guy, couldn't have asked for a nicer guy. Anything he could do for you, he would. Has a great family, his wife and three sons, really nice kids. Very distraught over the whole thing and it's a big loss for the whole community."
A funeral mass for Lovell is set for Friday morning at Our Lady of Loretto Church in Cold Spring.
