SPRING LAKE, N.Y. -- A nationwide effort makes a stop at the Spring Lake Fire Department.
"Wreaths Across America" is taking part in a weeklong trip from Maine to Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
The wreaths will be placed on the graves of those who fought in the armed forces.
The First Assistant Fire Chief says even more tractor trailers are making the trip this year.
"Last year was nine. I believe this year is ten or eleven. It doesn't represent all the wreaths going to Arlington but last year there was over 30,000 wreaths in the convoy," said Jerry McDonough, First Assistant Fire Chief, Spring Lake Fire Dept.
Members of the Spring Lake Fire Department provided dinner for the volunteers before they head back on the road.
The wreaths will be placed at grave sites Saturday morning.
