MONTICELLO, N.Y. -- The Village of Monticello board is looking over two bids to clean up a pile of asbestos-laced debris on Pleasant Street.
The pile has been there since October. It came from the demolition of the former village courthouse. The first bid is from DSA Services Inc. for $186,000. The second bid is offered by Specialty Trades for $96,000.
The project was originally supposed to cost just $5,000. There is no word on when the village is expected to vote on the two options.
