SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- The Saratoga Springs City Council is expected to vote on a land swap that may hold a proposed firehouse in the future.
The city would receive a new lot for the firehouse, in exchange for another piece of land.
A proposal for the new fire and EMS facility was first presented in September. The 10,000 square foot facility would cost about $3 million. The new building would be the third EMS and fire facility in the city.
The proposal is part of an effort to decrease response time in the city's third district. In some cases, response time has been as long as 13 minutes within the district.
