HUDSON VALLEY, N.Y. -- With the holiday season now upon us some local soldiers are joining in the giving spirit.

The Middletown and New Jersey Railroad held its second annual "Operation Toy Train" drive in an effort to collect toys for the U-S Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation.

The foundation collected around 10,000 toys last year.

All toys collected are given to needy families throughout the Hudson Valley.

The train will make five stops in New York where the public can drop off toys, see Santa Claus, experience the railroad and meet members of the Marines.

Volunteers from the Military Transport Association of Northern NJ and the Volunteer Railroaders Association helped run the event. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
