POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A state of emergency in the City of Poughkeepsie continues as city public works employees try to clear the streets of snow.

Starting at 8 p.m. Monday, Union, Grand and Delano streets will close so crews can plow them.

Residents are being asked to move their cars off of these streets until the streets are cleared.

Due to the state of emergency, the Poughkeepsie City School District will be closed Tuesday.

City Mayor John Tkazyik declared the state of emergency Sunday, after he says the Public Works Commissioner said there wasn't enough manpower to complete the clean up.

The union representing city DPW workers says employees weren't called in. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
