When a soldier goes overseas for a year at a time, it's not just family and friends they miss. They also go without the everyday things many take for granted. In this week's Giving Back, retired Fort Drum Colonel Mike Plummer created a program that allows the local community to help soldiers feel a bit of home from thousands of miles away.

If you know someone in your community who deserves recognition as a person who gives back, you can nominate them by submitting an e-mail to NYGivingBack@twcnews.com.
